8-Volt Replacement battery with higher capacity for the On-call / VCM system in newer Volvo models.
The error message "On call Service required" in most cases means that the small battery for the on-call system has gone bad.
A battery replacement can be expensive if you choose to give it away, so this is a good option for those of you who are used to tinkering yourself!

The battery is mounted in the VCM module.
In 5-seater cars, the VCM module is usually located just below the rear backrest under the luggage compartment floor.
In 7-seater cars, the VCM module is usually located behind the interior plastic on the right side in the trunk.
- When the battery is replaced, the VCM's software also needs to be updated.
