These lights are only recommended for those places where you have 3 modes to choose from, i.e. either On all the time, Off all the time or On when a door is opened. If they are mounted where you only have 2 positions, Off or On, they will always emit a weak glow, even when the car is locked.
in the Off mode, the lights are completely off.
in the Middle (Auto) mode, the lights emit a dim glow.
in the On position, the lamps light up at full power.
