Do you get the message "Alarm System Service Required" on the display? In most cases, it is this small battery in the alarm siren that has gone bad – a fault that is becoming common on the P3 models.
Replacing the entire siren costs about 3000 SEK + labor, so this is a better option for those who are comfortable with tinkering a bit themselves.
The battery connector is made after the original, but since it is molded in plastic, it may in some cases need to be filed slightly for a perfect fit.
After the replacement, the car may still show error codes - in which case these need to be erased with an OBD tool, such as our Super J2534 reader .
! If your old battery has leaked acid – clean the circuit board thoroughly and ensure that it is not damaged before installing the new battery. A damaged circuit board should not be reused.
