Replacement battery for VoC unit

Important information (Read before starting work)

The contact on this battery is NOT adapted for the purpose, therefore the contact piece must be transferred from your old battery!
The cables must be cut one at a time and the contact surfaces must NEVER touch each other!
For best results the cables should be soldered together but small proper cable lugs will also work.
If you are not comfortable with the work, you should not do it yourself.

Safety regulations (Read before starting work)

Read these safety instructions before installing your battery.

If the battery emits an unusual smell, changes color, shape or shows any abnormal behavior before or during installation, do not use it !

If you get battery fluid in your eyes, flush with clean water and consult a doctor.

Only mount the battery in the intended location, which is in the VoC unit.

Never store the battery near fire, intense heat, in direct sunlight, snow or extreme cold as this can cause overheating and significantly reduce the battery's performance and lifespan .

Never place the battery in a microwave oven or in any high-pressure generating device.

Never allow the battery's plus (red) and minus (black) poles/cables to come into contact with each other.

Do not expose the battery to impact or liquids.

Should you drop the battery on the floor, wait about 10 minutes before mounting it to ensure that the battery does not start to emit heat, change shape, color or show any other abnormal behavior.

The battery has a built-in protection mechanism that ensures safe use.

Never disassemble the battery or modify it in any way other than carefully replacing the connector.

Should the battery be taken apart and the built-in protection mechanism damaged, there is a risk of overheating, fire and explosion .

Consider the environment

Both this replacement battery and the original battery can be recycled. Leave the used battery at the nearest recycling center

Instructions

Release the T25 screws to the panel under the glove box, disconnect any light and put the panel away.

Once you have removed the panel two more T25 screws will appear, release these as well.

Then release the remaining T25 screws holding the glove compartment as shown in the image below.

When the glove box is loose, pull it out a few centimeters so that you can disconnect the connectors that are on the top, when these are removed you can hopefully pull out the entire glove box.
Should you feel a springy resistance, it is because there is sometimes a cable harness clipped on the back of the compartment, if so, get down on your knees and try to locate and pull this out to be able to continue.

Once the glove compartment is removed, you will be able to see the Telephone Module itself in which the battery is hidden.
Use a small hook to pry the door open as shown in the image below

Disconnect and remove the On-call battery.
The connector on the original battery needs to be moved to your new battery.
Once the connector is replaced, plug in the new battery and reassemble everything.

When everything is reassembled, you need to register a battery change in the phone module to turn off the error message in the display. This is done with the help of a sensible error code reader with support for easier programming such as Autel, Vida, Autocom etc.

If you entrust the registration to a workshop, be clear that it is precisely the on-call battery that has been replaced and not the starting or support battery.
